Well I don't know how to tell you this but the Horse people will not allow us to use the parking lot for our Solo events. They felt that it would cause to much damage. I was out there a week or so ago and the rigs they had parked out there were doing more damage then we would ever do. This just sucks.

So what is the story with the GM plant?  Thinking of a much larger venue for OKC that could bring a lot  of $$$ to the city.  Any contacts?

Also, does anyone know about Burns Flat?  I know they have an "aerospace" thing going on, but htey can't be using the whole thing.......   Any contacts?

Ann, the problem with GM is the City or County is purchasing it for Tinker AFB. I know a few people out at Tinker but not the right ones. Burns Flat was talked about years ago and dealing with the FAA and Space folks is a pain.

Thanks  Keith.  I don't know if everyone is aware, but HPT is not letting Solo Nationals back next year and SCCA is looking  for a viable site.  This would bring a lot of dough to the city and publicity, 1200 entries, which means a lot of meals, alcohol and hotel rooms......  Surely some of these places would change their minds if they knew the impact.  Everyone please let SCCA know if you have a site that could host this type of event (the largest motorsports event in the world) and let the SCCA sales types pitch it to them.  Even if you've approached in the past and they said no, they may change their mind.
Thanks in advance,
Ann

It was my understanding where solo nationals course was being held that it doubled as a padock for the road races and course for nationals so now that solo nationals and the run offs are being moved what was the point HPT? And why is everything being moved? I don't understand. 2nd that Ann. Hotels, restraunts, gas stations, liquor stores Tongue, and everything in between will profit from this.

Has anybody checked on the BNSF yard across from the GM plant? It's paved with no light poles, and it doesn't look like they're using it any more. Looking at it on GoogleMaps, it's a little smaller than Remington but considerably larger than OSU-OKC.
